Connecting Your Systems with Care and Precision

Integrating SAP Business One and CompuTec solutions with external systems requires more than a technical connection. Data flows, synchronization rules, conflict handling, security, and ongoing maintenance all need to be considered from the outset. Our own integration consultants handle every aspect of the project, from initial process mapping through to go-live and post-implementation support.

Our Integration Approach

A well-designed integration requires careful consideration of data flows, synchronization rules, performance, and security. Here is how we approach each project.

  • Process & Data Mapping

We begin each integration project by mapping the relevant business processes and data flows in detail, identifying what data moves between systems, in which direction, and what transformations or validations are required along the way.

  • Synchronization Design

We establish whether each integration is one-way or bidirectional, and define the appropriate update frequency (real-time, scheduled at intervals, or triggered by specific business events) based on the importance of the data and the load on the connected systems.

  • Conflict Handling

When the same data can be updated in more than one system simultaneously, we define clear priority rules to determine which system takes precedence. Conflicts are logged and notifications are generated so that any data inconsistencies can be identified and resolved promptly.

  • Performance & Scalability

Integrations are designed to handle the transaction volumes your business requires, and to accommodate growth over time. We adapt the integration architecture to the volume and frequency of data being synchronized between systems.

  • Monitoring & Alerts

Every integration includes logging and status reporting, covering the number of records processed, any errors encountered, and the overall health of the connection. Automatic notifications are generated in the event of a failure, so issues can be identified and addressed without delay.

  • Security

All integration connections use SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit. Authentication is handled using appropriate methods for each endpoint, and access control is applied at both the connection and data level to ensure only authorized systems and users can access the relevant data.

Ready to connect your systems with SAP Business One?

Whether you need a point-to-point connection or a multi-system architecture, our consultants can assess your environment and scope the right approach.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which integration technologies do you use?

We work with a range of industry-standard protocols and frameworks, including REST and OData APIs, SOAP web services, SAP Business One Integration Framework, and CompuTec AppEngine, selecting the most appropriate approach for each project.

How long does an integration project take?

Timelines depend on the complexity of the integration. Projects typically range from a few weeks to a few months. We provide a detailed project plan during the initial analysis phase, covering design, development, testing, and go-live.

Can you integrate systems that do not have an open API?

Yes. If a system can produce structured files such as CSV or XML, or allows SQL database access, we can build a reliable integration. We use flat file exchange and direct database methods for systems that do not support API-based connectivity.

What happens if a third-party system goes offline during data exchange?

We implement queuing mechanisms so that if an external system becomes unavailable, data is held securely and transmitted automatically once the connection is restored.

Does integration require downtime for our production systems?

In most cases, no. Integrations are developed and tested in a sandbox environment. The go-live transition is planned for low-traffic periods to minimize any impact on day-to-day operations.

Is there a recurring cost for integration?

The implementation is typically a one-time investment. We recommend an ongoing support agreement to ensure integrations remain stable when external platforms, SAP Business One, or security protocols are updated.

Which systems can you integrate with SAP Business One?

We can integrate with a wide range of business platforms, including:
E-commerce and marketplaces: Shopify, Magento, PrestaShop, Amazon, Allegro, and others
Logistics and sales: logistics operators (3PL), TMS providers (DHL, UPS, DPD, InPost, and others), CRM systems, and mobile sales applications
Finance and administration: banking APIs, OCR systems (SaldeoSMART, Navigator, and others), and expense portals (such as Yokoy)
Industrial: MES systems and IoT devices
SAP ecosystem: S/4HANA, ECC, and R/3 via SAP Business One Integration Framework and SAP IDoc
EDI: EDIFACT and VDA standards for automotive and other industries

Who provides support after the integration goes live?

CompuTec provides post-implementation support through our own support team. We offer support agreements with defined response times, managed through the CompuTec Support Portal at support.computec.pl.

Do your integrations work in cloud environments?

Yes. We design integrations for on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments, so the approach can be adapted to wherever your systems are hosted.

What happens if the external system's data structure changes in the future?

Field mappings can often be adjusted without rebuilding the entire integration. We provide technical documentation for each project, and for straightforward changes, we can advise your internal IT team on how to make modifications independently.
