One ERP, from two founding companies to a group more than double in size

Axium Packaging Group manufactures plastic packaging, including bottles, jars, capsules, and caps, primarily for the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and agrochemical sectors. Its largest site, in Saint-Etienne, France, brings together the group's two founding companies, Actipac and Loire Plastique.

The catalyst for change

Axium Packaging Group was formed by bringing together its two founding companies, Actipac and Loire Plastique, at its Saint-Etienne site, so they could offer clients a complete packaging range together. Running two merged businesses under one growing group meant Axium Packaging Group needed a single system to manage stock, sales, purchasing, and production together, rather than running on separate systems.

The solution

SAP Business One was implemented across Axium Packaging Group in 2009. CompuTec ProcessForce is used across the group's entities, including ActiPack, Loire Plastique Industrie, and Lapac in France, along with ActiPack CZ (Czech Republic) and KKT Kaller-Kunststofftechnik (Germany). The group works with ERT Intégration Groupe Kardol, its implementation partner for SAP Business One and CompuTec ProcessForce, to improve operations and support its expansion.

SAP Business One shows great flexibility. It's very malleable, and we can adapt it to almost any company, for each of their specific needs.

  • SAP Business One gives Axium Packaging Group control over all of its stock, with traceability across shipments and receipts, and the whole sales and purchasing side of the business.
  • CompuTec ProcessForce is a production extension that adds manufacturing and production management functionality directly into SAP Business One.
Everything really works together as one system. We work with a production extension called CompuTec ProcessForce, which adds extra functionality for production management.

The results

With SAP Business One and CompuTec ProcessForce connected across the group, Axium Packaging Group has grown steadily since its 2009 implementation, taking on bigger clients with a system already suited to their needs.

The implementation of CompuTec ProcessForce, delivered with ERT Intégration's expertise, was a resounding success at Axium. Their production management has been significantly streamlined and optimized, resulting in improved operational efficiency.

Key outcomes:

  • All stock managed within SAP Business One, with full traceability of shipments and receipts
  • Manufacturing and production management functionality built directly into SAP Business One with CompuTec ProcessForce
  • Growth from around EUR 30 million to EUR 75 million in turnover
  • Bigger clients than a decade ago, supported by a tool already suited to their needs
When we installed SAP Business One, our turnover was around 30 million euros. Today we're more like 70 to 75 million euros. We have bigger clients than we could have had ten years ago, and having a tool that's already suited to respond to certain clients greatly facilitates the group's development.
