The catalyst for change

As a pharmaceutical manufacturer, Meprofarm operates in a highly regulated industry, meaning it has to comply with strict rules set by regulators, with data that can be traced easily and accountability for who entered it and when. Before SAP Business One, formulation updates were also done manually, meaning it took time for changes to reach every department.

One of the most important things in implementing the system is compliance with regulations. Pharmaceuticals is a highly regulated industry, meaning we have to comply with rules set by the regulators of this industry, and SAP Business One provides a solution where all data can be traced easily. The second thing, which is no less important, is data integrity: data entered into SAP Business One must have accountability. When it was input, who input it, and so on can easily be traced from one end to the other.

The solution

Meprofarm implemented SAP Business One, alongside CompuTec ProcessForce, with implementation partner BeOne Solution.

  • SAP Business One gives Meprofarm a way to trace data end to end, with full accountability for who entered it and when, meeting the compliance demands of a highly regulated industry.
  • CompuTec ProcessForce gives Meprofarm the tools to update the BOM (Bill of Materials), for both composition and shelf life, directly in the system, so every relevant department gets the update immediately instead of waiting on a manual process.
  • CompuTec ProcessForce also gives the R&D department visibility into material stock and release status before requesting materials.
Before using SAP Business One, we did all the work to update the formulation manually, and it took some time for the update to reach all departments. Now, with SAP Business One, we enter updates into the system and all the relevant departments have the update immediately. We can update the BOM in terms of composition as well as shelf life, and all the necessary data can be updated in a short time and accessed directly by all relevant departments.

The results

With SAP Business One and CompuTec ProcessForce connected, Meprofarm's supply chain and production planning teams get real-time data on the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished product, making shipment preparation quicker and delivery routing more reliable. Inventory management, once handled manually or with basic software, is now far easier, with clear stock checks, ratios, and the reports needed to place orders with confidence.

I've been helped by SAP Business One because it provides real-time data, so the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, and products can all be monitored properly at the same time. It also helps with the delivery of goods, and where to send them. With SAP, the preparation of shipments is quicker, so we can produce better results for the company.

Key outcomes:

  • Full, end-to-end data traceability, with accountability for who entered what and when
  • Formulation and BOM updates that reach every relevant department immediately
  • Real-time visibility into the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished product
  • Quicker shipment preparation and more reliable delivery routing
  • Much easier inventory management, from stock checks to order-planning reports
  • Clearer visibility into the flow of goods, for easier production planning
With SAP Business One, we get a lot of help. Previously we did things manually or with some very basic software. Now inventory management has become a lot easier, starting from checking the stock, to seeing the ratio and what condition it's in, then getting the reports we need for placing orders. We can see the flow of income and expenditure of goods, so planning is also very easy for us now.
