Evolution Foods is a premier independent supplier of retail-packed dried fruit, nuts, and snacking products in the UK. Founded in 2006 in Shrewsbury, the company now operates from a 75,000-square-foot, BRC Grade A certified facility in Telford, with capacity to produce up to 100 million packs a year for the UK's major retailers. Evolution Foods employs 220 people.

The catalyst for change

Evolution Foods' previous system could not keep pace with the business's rapid expansion. With the need to support BRC requirements alongside more and more food industry regulations coming into place, Evolution Foods needed a system built to handle all of it, with room for further growth built in from the start.

The solution

Evolution Foods implemented SAP Business One with CompuTec ProcessForce, working with implementation partner Vision33. CompuTec WMS was added later, once the company was ready to bring warehouse management onto the same system.

  • SAP Business One is the ERP platform behind Evolution Foods' operations.
  • CompuTec ProcessForce, fully integrated with SAP Business One, gives Evolution Foods the tools to handle UK BRC registrations and batch traceability requirements.
  • CompuTec WMS was added later, giving Evolution Foods a way to manage warehouse operations alongside SAP Business One and CompuTec ProcessForce.

The results

With SAP Business One and CompuTec ProcessForce in place, Evolution Foods now handles more transactions than its previous system managed over 8 years, on a stable platform with no performance problems. Processing is fully linked from Sales Order through Manufacturing Order to Delivery.
