Schnug Logistic Group has provided logistics and transport services from its base near Swiebodzin, Poland, since 2004, drawing on the heritage of its German parent company, Karl Schnug Kraftwagen Spedition, founded in 1932. The company offers domestic and international transport and freight forwarding alongside warehousing and order picking, and holds ISO and Green Logistics certification.

The catalyst for change

Schnug Logistic Group started in 2004 handling logistics for a single client in Swiebodzin, initially running on that client's own system. As the company built its portfolio of logistics and transport clients, it needed its own dedicated tool to manage warehouse processes for a growing, more varied client base.

The solution

Schnug Logistic Group surveyed the market, following its own procedures, before choosing CompuTec's proposed solution: SAP Business One with CompuTec WMS, implemented directly by CompuTec.

  • CompuTec WMS gives Schnug Logistic Group a way to manage the flow of goods through its warehouse and bill each client accurately, with custom reports built for the different billing agreements its clients use. It supports data entry via GS1 barcode scanners, industrial weight scales, and can also run on Android devices.
Some of our clients are billed by what we call a "warehouse day": if a pallet sits for even a few minutes, they get a report at the end of the month showing exactly how much movement there was. Other clients have full pallet storage arrangements, and others we track pallet by pallet with scanners. CompuTec built the reports we needed for each of them.
